You’ve seen the commercials and maybe you’ve even known a person or two that has done a river cruise, but maybe you’re still skeptical about why you would want to choose this option over the more well known sea cruise products. What is it about New Orleans that keeps you coming back time after time? Hands down it is one of the most exciting cities in the US. There is really something for everyone there whether you travel for the love of food, history, culture or a just a good time. The fact that the city has survived fires, flooding and hurricanes and still thrives is a testament to the people and the prevailing tenacity of a city that refuses to be put to down to rest, even while still be the pure definition of its loving nickname, “The Big Easy.”

So being from Texas, I have made countless trips to Mexico; Its’ border, its’ capital city and of course, the Yucatan peninsula and all its great hotspots like Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Cozumel and Isla Mujeres. While I wouldn’t say I am an expert on travel there, I feel like I have some relatively good advice on things to plan for when headed down south for a beach vacation in particular. Even so, this last trip caught me by surprise. And with its many near fiascos, it had come to a point where I felt like I might be in my own type of Truman Show, where things kept happening to the point of comedy.
